Your Bio

It seems as though I've always had a camera in my hand. From the Kodak Instamatics of my youth, through the various 35mm's used attempting to learn the art of photography, to the Nikon digital cameras I use today (still learning the art of photography) And it is an art. Photography is not an exact science. What looks great to me may not work for others at all. So.... it's my hope you will enjoy my work, but if not, I truly encourage any and all comments. San Xavier del Bac Mission : The Mission San Xavier del Bac is located near Tucson, AZ. It is known as the "White Dove of the Desert" The day we visited a young couple was getting married. It's a beautiful place, well worth the time to stop and look around.

Tumacacori National Historical Park : Tumacacori National Historic Park is located just south of Tubac, AZ south of Tucson near the Mexican border. We visited recently and the rangers were pleasant, the skies were beautiful, and the photo opportunities were plentiful. Tubac is an interesting place to visit, though a bit "touristy" for me. Had a great lunch at Shelby's and there were enough interesting things that I could spend a lot of money in this town if I had it to spend. I've included some pictures from Tubac since they are so close.

Saguaro National Park : Saguaro National Park is located just outside Tuscon, AZ and is broken into 2 sections. These pictures are all from the west side. It's amazing to me that these cacti are so unique, each one is different. It takes between 50 - 70 years before the first branch grows and may live to over 200 years old. There are beautiful, relatively short, trails to wander around in the desert and see these cacti and many others up close and personal. I hope to get back in late spring when the desert is in bloom.

Flowers - Enhanced : This is about color originating from flower pictures. I'm looking for pictures that can add color to a dull room that almost look real, but not quite.(most of the time) I've seen too many pictures hanging in homes that didn't do anything for the room because the focus was on detail, not on the colors it added to the room. I've long thought some Photoshop effects may provide the look I'm searching for. This is my attempt to find a good mix for my home. Please don't hesitate to comment. den-s-photography@earthlink.net
